Performances & Concerts


Opening its 46th season, the Classix six-concert series is the keystone of our performance schedule. The Classix concert sets are performed from September to April on Sunday afternoons and Tuesday evenings at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno, Nevada. Prior to each concert, music director Laura Jackson presents a concert Preview, an informative discussion of the evening’s program that is extremely popular with our patrons.

  • Concert Preview is at 3:00 PM in the main hall
  • Tuesday performance at 7:30 PM
  • Doors open at 6:30 PM
  • Concert Preview is at 7:00 PM in the exhibition hall in the lower lobby

Youth Orchestra Fall Showcase

The Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestras will present their Fall 2014 Showcase concert on Saturday, November 15, at 7:00pm at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts. This wonderful evening of music will feature the Youth Symphony Orchestra, Youth Concert Orchestra and Youth Strings Symphonia. Do not miss these talented young musicians as they perform the works of Elgar, Tchaikovksy, and much more. Tickets available for purchase online starting October 7, 2014. $5.00 for students (18 and under), $10.00 for adults.

Spirit of the Season

This classic holiday celebration will play to packed houses for three shows, a matinee and evening performance on Saturday and a matinee on Sunday. The Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Dr. Jason Altieri welcome special guests to kick off the season with a variety-style combination of singers, dancers, performers, Santa Tappers, Santa Claus and more! Enjoy orchestral arrangements, jazzy numbers and traditional holiday tunes wrapped in fantasy and fun for the whole family. Tickets on sale now.

Family Concert

To honor Nevada’s 150th, the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus welcome the Washoe County School District’s 6th Grade Honor Choir in a robust performance of Home Means Nevada, as well as other music with ties to this place we call home. The Family Concert will also showcase cellist and Davidson Fellow Nathan Chan. This free concert is open to the public and is generously sponsored by The Nell J. Redfield Foundation.

The Reno Phil is committed to audience members no matter their height. This free concert is a perfect way to introduce young audiences to the orchestra. Don’t forget to come early for fun, hands-on pre-concert activities!
