Orchestra Auditions
The Reno Philharmonic and Laura Jackson, Music Director, announce auditions for the following positions:
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL CELLO
SECTION VIOLIN
SECTION VIOLA
Auditions will take place on Sunday, February 10, 2013 beginning at 12:30 PM in the Theater at North Valleys High School, Reno, Nevada.
The Reno Philharmonic (RPO) offers diverse programming to the northern Nevada and eastern California region. It performs 6 pairs of Classical subscription concerts, 6 Young People’s Concerts, and family and pops concerts. The Reno Philharmonic supports three Youth Orchestras and places chamber groups in area public schools through its Discover Music program.

After your resume has been approved by our Personnel Manager the Reno Philharmonic office will be notified and the candidate will be instructed to pick up the audition materials at the RPO office. After the deadline the candidate will be contacted by Mary Miller to confirm that they still wish to audition, after having seen and practiced the music excerpts. Once the exact number of applicants is set the applicants will be notified of their times.
Contract musicians of the Reno Philharmonic are currently paid at the following per-service (2.5 hour) rates: Section Musician Per-Service: $97, per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Assistant Principal Musician Per-Service: $106.70 per the current Collective Bargaining Agreement.
