UPDATES
Audition dates for each instrument have been determined:
Thursday, May 31: YCO/YSO FRENCH HORN, TRUMPET, BASS, PERCUSSION
Friday, June 1: YCO/YSO VIOLA, FLUTE, TROMBONE, TUBA
Saturday, June 2: YCO/YSO VIOLIN, CELLO, OBOE, BASSOON, CLARINET
Saturday, June 2: ALL YOUTH STRINGS SYMPHONIA (YSS)
- Applicants unable to audition during scheduled windows must set up an alternate audition time in advance. Indicate any scheduling needs on the application.
- Applicants will be emailed after all applications are received and processed, and assigned a specific audition timeslot. Email scheduled to go out Wednesday, May 16.
How to audition:

3. Begin practicing immediately.
4. You will be contacted with your audition time slot once all Audition Applications have been received. Application deadline is Friday, May 11, 2012.

Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the Youth Symphony Orchestra or Youth Concert Orchestra programs, students must 12 years of age. Youth Strings Symphonia members must be in grades 4-8. All RPYO members must be enrolled in their school music program. String players must be enrolled in their school orchestra program; wind, brass, and percussion players must be enrolled in their school band program. Some exemptions may apply.
All YSO, YCO, and YSS students are strongly encouraged take private lessons on their instrument. Private teacher referrals are available through the Reno Philharmonic education department.
Attendance at rehearsals and concerts is mandatory. Rehearsals are Monday evenings during the school year. All orchestras typically have a minimum of one performance during the school day, resulting in an excused absence. Please refer to dates listed on Audition Application, and review your schedule carefully before committing to the RPYO.
