Auditions will be Saturday 1/28/23 at the Reno Phil office in the McKinley Arts & Culture Center (925 Riverside Dr Suite 3). Auditionees should prepare the excerpts and be ready to do vocalizing, rhythm reading, sight singing, and melodic memory.
The upcoming season of the Reno Philharmonic and Chorus is a busy one! We have several terrific opportunities. With the growth of the chorus comes a request from the Philharmonic leadership for an increased level of commitment from each singer in the chorus.
We want to strongly encourage you to consider membership in the chorus to be a complete year commitment! We love to have a full chorus for all of our performances. It is challenging to program when 120 people say they are available to perform a piece, we order 120 pieces of music, we plan for 120 seats on stage, then to have 100-110 actually complete the performance. Each singer, truly, is valuable.
The Reno Phil leadership has worked carefully to create a year-long calendar. We ask you to look at the dates below and assess your availability. You are expected (barring unforeseen circumstances) to attend 80% of pre-concert week rehearsals, and are allowed ONE absence concert week, but it must NOT be the final dress rehearsal. All pre-concert rehearsals are 9:30am – 12:30pm, Saturdays, unless otherwise noted.
