Edward Stevenson

Board of Trustees

Edward Stevenson is a 50-year resident of Reno and a recently retired attorney and gaming executive. He serves as a Trustee of the University of Nevada, Reno Foundation and on several corporate and Community boards in addition to one previous term on the Board of the Reno Philharmonic.

He served as Chief Operating Officer for Harvey’s Resort Casinos, President of International Game Technology’s Casino Operations Division and retired in 2018 after 21 years as President/CEO of the SMSC Gaming Enterprise resort casino in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Mr. Stevenson is an attorney licensed in Nevada and California currently “Of Counsel” to the Reno law firm of Woodburn and Wedge, Nevada’s oldest law firm, which celebrated it’s 100th year in 2018. One of his proudest moments of his law career was appearing before the United States Supreme Court with his attorney daughter Lindsay for the two to be sworn into the Supreme Court Bar.

Mr. Stevenson is also a “retired” trumpet player and has fond memories of performing from sixth grade through college. He feels privileged to support the Reno Phil and he and his wife Trudy (a native Nevadan) enjoy the performances of our very talented musicians and our fantastic Music Director Laura Jackson.
