SIBELIUS VIOLIN CONCERTO

CLASSIX SERIES • OCT 23 & 24

This program brings three unique and superior artistic voices together in an intriguing juxtaposition of old and new. We begin with Harlin- a nod to dance music that will have you tapping your foot. Then we turn to one of Haydn’s most extraordinary and dramatic symphonies, the last of his London series. Finally, we close the concert with the return of another beloved performer, Chloë Hanslip, known for her mesmerizing and spellbinding performances. Hanslip will tackle what is notoriously known as one of the most difficult concertos ever written, and the only one Sibelius ever wrote.

ON THE PROGRAM

Patrick HARLIN Shadow Dancer
Joseph HAYDN Symphony No. 104 in D Major “London”
Jean SIBELIUS Violin Concerto in D minor, op. 47
