How long have you been singing?
I’ve been singing publicly since I was 9 or 10.

How did you discover you loved to sing?
My entire family sings, so it was just something I grew up to do.

Elementary Music Teacher for Washoe County School District, and the Reno Philharmonic Chorus Manager

When you’re not singing with the Reno Phil, what would we most likely see you doing in your free time?
Gardening, going to the movie theater, or picking up Dutch Brother’s.

What genre of music are you most excited to sing?
Jazz

What is your favorite piece of all time to sing, and why?
With a choir, “Shenandoah” (it reminds me of my birthplace, Missouri); by myself, “The Nearness of You” by Noah Jones (it has great range and fun improvisation spots)

If you could meet one composer/musician, who would it be and why?
I would love to meet Billie Holiday just to give her a hug.

What is your favorite vacation spot?
Seattle and Nebraska (to see family)

What do you think the audience would find surprising about you?
I use to deliver pizzas for a living.

What about performing live music brings you joy?
I love feeling the energy of the other musicians. That joint effort and consciousness is incredible.
