Michael Hillerby manages the legislative affairs practice at Kaempfer Crowell, where he represents a wide variety of clients at the state and local level. Mr. Hillerby has been lobbying in Nevada since 1991, and has extensive experience with the Nevada Legislature, a variety of regulatory boards and commissions, as well as county and local governments. In addition to lobbying, his expertise includes strategic guidance and public affairs for clients. He served as Chief of Staff to former Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn, and started his State career as Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs. Prior to that he was the City of Reno’s first Arts and Culture Manager, working on projects such as Artown and supervising the historic rehabilitation of the McKinley Park School.
In addition to serving on the Board of Trustees of the Reno Phil, he also sings in the Phil chorus. Mr. Hillerby is past Chair of the Nevada Museum of Art Board of Trustees, and served on the Board and as Vice Chair of the Western States Arts Federation. He is also a former OPERA America Fellow.
